From the President

Dear Arts Patrons,

Welcome to the Viterbo University 2022–23 performing arts season. Whether it be for a Bright Star, Conservatory for the Performing Arts, or Weber Center series event, we are very pleased to have you join us for what surely will be an outstanding production.

The Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration have always cherished the arts, and we are proud to continue the legacy of our founders. Viterbo is truly blessed to have incredibly talented Conservatory students, faculty, and Fine Arts Center staff. Every show is painstakingly crafted and selected to offer the highest quality and culturally enriching entertainment possible to our community.

To all Viterbo arts patrons, benefactors, sponsors, volunteers, and artists, allow me to express my sincere gratitude for your support. Enjoy the show!

Director's Note

Dance Kaleidoscope is created in the dance repertory course and it is the culmination of years of hard work for dance minors in the Conservatory for the Performing Arts. This show is student choreographed with faculty mentorship, building upon the skills learned in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre dance, modern, dance appreciation, and dance composition. Student choreographers have also had wonderful opportunities working with guest artists which provide a wider breadth and understanding of dance.

Additionally, Dance Kaleidoscope is student designed with faculty and staff mentorship. Student designers in design aesthetics have created the lighting, costuming, set design, and other intricate design elements to bring this show to life. Their vision and implementation of these elements is essential for a fully realized production.

The collaboration between student choreographers, student designers, faculty, and staff is essential for the creation of this dance concert. Collaboration is the cornerstone to all creative endeavors and it is beautiful to see these artists share their talents with each other for the purpose of enriching the lives of those to whom they present their work. We are proud to have shared the studio, stage, and shop with these thoughtful and talented individuals, and we are confident you will thoroughly enjoy their work.
