Dear Audience Members,
Thank you for attending this 2024–25 performing arts season production. The outstanding show you are about to enjoy is part of a thoughtful and carefully selected lineup designed to provide a wide array of entertainment experiences. I would like to acknowledge Dillon McArdle, director of the Viterbo Fine Arts Center, and his incredible staff for their hard work in making this season possible.
Allow me to also extend my gratitude to you—our patrons, benefactors, sponsors, volunteers, and students—for your continued support in bringing the best of the arts to the region. We are fortunate to live in a place with so many cultural and artistic opportunities, just as the members of the Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration envisioned when they built this wonderful facility.
We are very happy to have you join us. On with the show!

Nurse Blake is a nurse, creator, advocate, touring comedian, viral sensation, and so much more. From nursing school to the bedsides of patients, he uses his unique experiences for a fun-filled comedy event that celebrates the hard work of healthcare providers. He is truly a one-of-a-kind entertainer with a career pivot not even he could have expected!
From an early age, he knew he wanted to be a nurse and started working as a patient transporter at 17. Nurse Blake earned a BSN in 2014 from UCF in Orlando. As an advocate from the beginning, he was also the president of the Florida Nursing Student Association.
In 2013, Nurse Blake started Banned4Life to end the permanent FDA gay blood ban, which ultimately contributed to the lifetime ban being lifted in 2015. Driven by an intense desire to effect meaningful change in healthcare, Nurse Blake’s commitment extends beyond policy work. He shares his personal narrative with remarkable candor, embodying transparency and courage.
Immediately after graduating, he jumped right into what he thought would be his forever career, working in level 1 trauma centers around the country in a variety of nursing roles. Unbeknownst to him, his interest in social media that had developed during school would shift his career 180 degrees.
Nurse Blake began creating Facebook videos as a way to de-stress and share his nursing experience in a comedic way. Hailed “a genuine phenomenon” by The New York Times, Blake Lynch as @NurseBlake went viral and connected nurses and nursing students together from around the world, currently entertaining nearly 4M followers on social media. Fans worldwide know Nurse Blake from his viral videos and now he takes his comedy to the stages around the world bringing nurses together through his humor and inspiration. In 2023, Nurse Blake decided to embark on a new 100 city tour, Shock Advised Comedy Tour, across North America featuring live skits, videos, and interactive stories drawn from his real-life. This tour follows his 2022 PTO Comedy Tour which started in 14 cities and grew to 55 due to demand–and sold out every venue!
Nurse Blake is also an author. His latest release is a charming holiday-themed children's book, Santa Sent to the E.R., an educational tale where young readers will discover the true meaning of first aid, prevention, and care through a heartwarming adventure with Santa. His love of storytelling also can be found in his creation of Nurse Blake Magazine, a free magazine that serves as a platform for captivating stories about nurses and healthcare and is available both in print and as downloadable versions on Nurse Blake's official website, nurseblake.com.
