Show Synopsis

Over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house she goes. Red Riding Hood, not so little anymore, and her pre-teen pals try to stay on the straight and narrow in the latest adventure from the Missoula Children's Theatre, Red Riding Hood. The Big Bad Wolf, who is not so bad after all, and a friendly neighborhood Forest Ranger urge our heroes to stay true to the path, for in the Shadows lurk diversions and a sinister surprise or two. A pack of woefully nasty young wolves and a handsome Woodsman, too good to be true, are a must for our story. And we can’t have a wolf tale without Three Little Pigs and even a Boy Who Cries…you guessed it. With help from her family and a loyal young Locksmith (he carries the key), Red finds her Grandma and a whole lot more. Now if only she could retrieve her picnic basket from those rascally Raccoons. Life is no picnic when you stray from the trail!

Big Bad Wolf–Tour Actor/Director

Zach Gammel
is a 2021 graduate of Niagara University where he earned a BFA in theatre performance along with minors in dance and theatre design and production. This is his first touring opportunity and he is beyond grateful to be a part of this company. Since graduating, he spent this past summer in Hershey Park entertaining guests as a part of the RWS Fun Crew. Then he went home to perform the role of Jud in a local dinner theatre's production of Tribute. Along with theatre and the arts, Gammel loves to do just about anything outdoors, play video games, dance, and hang out with his friends. He would like to thank his family for always being supportive and keeping him grounded, his friends back home, and all the wonderful teachers he has had along the way, both in and out of school.

Director–Tour Actor/Director

He would like to thank his parents for their endless support.

Throughout its 45-year existence, the Missoula Children’s Theatre International Tour has fostered developmental life skills in more than a million kids. Just this year, they will work with 65,000 children in more than 1,200 communities in all 50 states and 17 countries. The Missoula Children’s Theatre relies on your generosity to close the gap between low tour fees and the actual cost of touring. If their program has had a positive impact on you or a family member, and you would like to help ensure this experience for future generations, please contact bfrazee@MCTinc.org. Like all performing arts organizations, COVID–19 has had a devastating impact on their budget. One of the many ways the Missoula Children’s Theatre remains vibrant is through generous donors all over the world. “Guess what? I made it…I’m in the play!

On stage or behind the scenes, your children are stars! Maybe this is their first show, or they've been in 12 MCT shows. Either way, their Missoula Children’s Theatre experience will always shine bright. We invite you to honor that experience with a “star” in the MCT Galaxy, located in MCT headquarters in Missoula! How many stars are in the galaxy? When you participate, the sky's the limit! You may even want one of your own for being your child’s life-long stage manager. To see a sample of the MCT Galaxy and learn more about this exciting, new way to celebrate your star, visit MCTinc.org/mct-galaxy.
