DEAD IS DEAD

Erik Mark Larson

One by One
they fall around us,
dying and wailing their final thoughts.
They are as coherent as we make them,
and hang by their every word.
But maybe it doesn’t matter.
Maybe you shouldn’t care,
or build your life on falling stairs,
In a house that will never be there.
