I go in and I go out

Like a fickle cat

Traipsing between a portal to fresh grass or fresh carpet

I’m looking for something; someone new

When I know there will be nothing

I’m desperate for interaction

When I should really seek it elsewhere

Off of my phone

Off of the internet

A park, a café, a person

Someone who’s face I can see

Who’s scent I can smell

Who’s hand I can touch

I should find my peace in something; in someone real

But I don’t.
