| Alumni Authors Hit Shelves With Their Latest Books
Two Viterbo University graduates, Amanda (Lee) Zieba '11 and Alice Heinrich '12, recently had books they wrote hit the market.
Zieba, a La Crosse area teacher who conducts writers workshops, has published her latest book, a novella titled Close Quarters that is set in La Crosse.
In this book, one of 12 Zieba titles available on Amazon, four cousins open a bookstore together to honor their grandmother in a heartwarming story that delves into “the tribulations of being a woman in today’s high expectation world, the complexities of close-knit families and the power of friendship.”
A prolific blogger, Zieba will host a blogging workshop in Onalaska from noon–7 p.m. Saturday, March 7. |

Heinrich, meanwhile, has published her first title, Elliot and the Moonship, a children’s book illustrated by Chris Nickels in which she takes young readers on a memorable adventure as a grandfather shows his sweet-but-skeptical grandson that it’s possible to touch the moon. The beautiful, colorful journey leads them through the woods where they discover the awe-inspiring power of nature, the bonds of family, and the wondrous realization that, indeed, anything is possible.
Pearl Street Books in downtown La Crosse will host a book reading by Heinrich starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22.
